Whiteside Mountain, with its spectacular 700-foot-high cliff, offers hikers amazing views of four states. 

Upper Bearwallow Falls, part of Gorges State Park, is directly accessible via a short hike from Toxaway Views.

The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway is truly a national treasure, offering spectacular views and points of interest.

There are several charming towns close to Toxaway Views that offer visitors shopping and great dining – Cashiers, Brevard, Highlands, Hendersonville, and Waynesville.

Antique stores, art galleries and gift shops abound. 

Restaurant options range from fine dining to casual.

While truly a mountain escape, Toxaway Views is about an hour from Asheville Airport and all that this wonderful city offers (including the Biltmore Estate).

Enjoy beautiful Lake Glenville just north of Cashiers, which offers boat rentals and tours. 

Just 15 minutes away is Headwaters Outfitters where you can tube or canoe down the beautiful French Broad River. Fly fishing is another way to enjoy this beautiful area, on the French Broad or in the Pisgah Forest. 

Challenging and exciting white-water rafting is not far away at the Nantahala River.

If you love golf, there are several nearby courses offering real mountain golf with incredible views. Some fun but challenging courses down the mountain include Pickens SC (The Rock) or Walhalla SC (Windsor).

Western NC does not shut down in winter; skiing, snowboarding, and sledding are all available in nearby Sapphire.
